The deal

The Film Timeline is free to use. By using it you agree to these terms. If you do not agree, do not use the site.

Your account

You must be 13 or older. One person per account. You are responsible for what your account posts. The birthday on an account must be truthful, and once set it is fixed; giving a false age is a violation of these terms. You can delete your account at any time from Settings, and deletion is permanent.

Conduct

• No hate speech. No harassment or bullying. No threats. No spam. No sexual content involving minors, ever. No posting other people's private information.
• No unlawful activity of any kind, and no using the site to plan, pursue or promote it.
• Adults may not use the site to pursue contact with minors. Text messaging works only inside your own age group; between adult and under-18 accounts only film suggestions can be sent.
• These rules apply everywhere on the site: posts, comments, display names, profiles, pictures and direct messages.

What you post

• You keep ownership of what you write. You give us permission to display it on the site, which is the entire point of posting it.
• We can remove content or accounts that break these rules, without notice. The owner of a post can also delete comments under it.
• To report content, use the report controls on the site or write to support@thefilmtimeline.com. Every report is reviewed by a person.

Messages

Direct messages are private from other users. They are not private from the site, and you should have no expectation of privacy in them. Every message is stored on our servers and screened automatically for spam and abuse. We do not sit and read people's conversations, but we can and will review messages when one is reported, when something suggests a threat to anyone's safety, and when the law requires it. We cooperate with law enforcement, and abuse directed at minors is reported to the relevant authorities. Any message you receive can be reported with the flag on the message itself. Breaking these rules costs the account.

Film data comes from Wikidata under CC0. Poster artwork and film titles remain the property of their respective rights holders. Streaming availability data comes from JustWatch via TMDB. If you hold rights to something shown here and want it removed, email support@thefilmtimeline.com and we will handle it promptly.

Fair play

No bots, no scraping the site, no automating game submissions, no attacking the service. Leaderboard entries that were not earned by a human playing get removed.

No warranty

The site is provided as is. We work to keep it accurate and available, but we do not guarantee either, and we are not liable for losses arising from your use of it, to the maximum extent the law allows.

Changes

If these terms change in a way that matters, we will say so on the site. Continuing to use the site after a change means you accept it.
